Built for complex matters, grounded in trust.

Founded July 1, 1990, the partnership launched with three attorneys, two secretaries, and one messenger. Within one year, the firm exceeded initial projections, with client retainers more than doubling and legal business tripling.

The founding lawyers established aspirations for the firm to become "one of the leading law firms in the country" while serving as an incubator for legal talent. They envisioned the organization as a combined "excellent law firm, legal research center, and management and investment company." The firm aimed to function as a "legal think-tank at the forefront of legal development" and cultivate leaders across law and business sectors.
